“Did you know a young boy drowned the year before those two others were killed? The counselors weren’t paying any attention. They were making love while that young boy drowned. His name was Jason. I was working the day that it happened, preparing meals here. I was the cook. Jason should’ve been watched every minute. He was. He wasn’t a very good swimmer. We can go now, dear.” – Pamela Voorhees
– Was born to single mother ‘Pamela Voorhees’ on June 13th 1946 in Cunningham New Jersey.
– Jason was born with physical and mental deformities, but his mother adored him more than anything regardless.
– Pamela raised Jason and home schooled him herself for the first decade of his life and was his only friend growing up.
– Pamela later got a higher paying job as a cook at a new summer camp called “Camp Crystal Lake” where she was encouraged to take Jason in hopes he could socialize with other campers and assured he’d be watched by the counselors.
– However, one day the two counselors left to go have sex, leaving Jason alone to be bullied by the other kids and chased off a dock where he he fell into the lake and drowned.
– Distraught over his child’s death, Pamela managed to some how get a hold of the Necronomicon (Yes, the very one from the Evil Dead Franchise) and use a spell to bring her son back from the dead.
– It was successful, but she never got to see Jason rise as he retreated deep into the woods due to the torment he previously suffered.
– Believing she failed to bring back her boy, Pamela went insane and snuck back into the camp the following year. She killed the two counselors, got the camp shut down, and devoted her life to sabotaging the camp. No matter what, it was still going to open.
– One night on Friday the 13th 1979 (Jason’s Birthday) Pamela killed the entire staff at the same in a rage.
– However, one councilor (Alice Hardy) killed Pamela in self defense decapitating her with a machete.
– Jason witnessed his mother’s murder, which prompted him to get his revenge.
– Before he did, he stole his mother’s severed head and sweater and constructed a shrine for her in his own selfmade cabin in the woods.
– After 2 months, he tracked down Alice, murdered her, and returned to crystal lake.
– Jason now considers Crystal Lake the sacred burial ground of his mother, the only person who had ever loved him. Anyone who trespasses there is disrespecting his mother, and thus he will kill them without question.

Strength:
– Has super human strength.
– Strength has only increased due to every resurrection (See “Revenant” below.)
– Can lift grown men off the ground with just one arm.
– Can easily smash through wooden doors by walking into them
– Can lift and flip over an entire car (Which is well over 3000 lbs)
– Once pushed a heavy boiler off his body (which likely weighed a few tons) after it fell on top of him.
– Can easily disembowel, twist, rip apart, and even crush peoples limbs, organs, and heads with just his bare hands.

– Can also send people flying whether it’s from throwing them or merely back handing them.

– Can easily smash through wooden doors by walking into them.
– Has impaled people with his own limbs via stomping on them and impaling them with his foot or punching hard enough to impale some one with his fist.
– Can easily lift a sleeping bag containing two people and slam it into a tree hard enough to completely kill and mangle the people inside (Page 1, Page 2)
– Threw an axe so hard it smashed through a door and stabbed a woman.
– Can smash a car’s engine block with his bare hands.
– Once decapitated 3 men with just a single swing of his machete.
– Once sliced through two people and an entire tree with just a single swing of his machete.
– Once hit a man with a shopping kart so hard that he looked like ground beef afterwards.
– Bent an entire bed (with a person in it) with his bare hands.
– Once clobbered a man’s head so hard that it went through his body and came out his perineum.
– Can punch through a several inches of steel door with just his bare fist.
– Has casually punched through the human body numerous times without any gore spilling out whatsoever.
— The average fist surface is 0.054 meters and the average human body depth is about half of average human torso length which is ~ 0.4 m giving a cylinder volume of 0.37 m cubed. The density of human body is 985 kilograms per meter cubed, meaning he is vaporizing 364.45 kilograms. This means he is outputting somewhere between 3.29 to 4.113 MegaWatts, which is in the building level range.
– Once slammed a woman’s head through an inch of steel so hard that it molded around her skull.
— Can even break down thick steel doors (Example 1, Example 2)
– Once stabbed his machete straight through a 15 inch thick reinforced metal chamber door.
– Has shattered/broken through chains meant to restrain him.
– Over powered and killed a Great White Shark.
– When Freddy Krueger resurrected many of Jason’s past victims at once to pull Jason down into hell itself (and even impaled him with his own machete), even their combined strength couldn’t hold Jason back for long and he was able to escape.
– Has shown repeatedly strong enough to fight Freddy Krueger and Ash Williams (See “Scaling” below)
Durability:
– Is practically an unstoppable living tank.
– Durability has only increased due to every resurrection (See “Revenant” below.)
– Is completely unfazed by being lit on fire.
– Getting Electrically shocked only makes him stronger (See “Electricity Absorption” below)
– Barely even flinched after a shovel was broken over his head.
– Often shrugs off being riddled with bullets from various kinds of fire arms be it from hand guns, shot guns, machine guns, and high powered assault rifles. (Even at point blank range.)
– Has walked away unharmed from numerous explosions such as being blown up by grenades, being inside an exploding van, tanking a car explosion, tanking a helicopter explosion, ect.
— Has walked away from larger explosions that destroyed entire houses that he was then inside of.
– Once got hit by a car, was completely undamaged, and proceeded to tear apart said car afterwards.
– Has gotten back up after falling from hundreds of feet off a cliff.
– Was once thrown into a tree so hard that it broke in half.
– Got back up after a tank was thrown on top of him.
– Walked away from a massive train crash.
– Once tanked an enormous gasoline explosion so powerful that it launched both him and Freddy into a lake, created a small earthquake, set he entire camp on fire, left a large crater in the earth, and even created a mushroom cloud.
— A Mushroom Cloud likely means the explosion contained a potency of 10 kilotons of TNT.
— Though keep in mind, it was a series of smaller explosions that escalated into a bigger one. (Jason and Freddy were launched before the explosion grew to that size.)
– Has taken beatings from both Freddy Krueger and Ash Williams (See “Scaling” below)
Endurance:
– Often just keeps going no matter how many times he’s stabbed, impaled, shot, ect.
— This even includes getting stabbed in vital areas such as his brain or heart.
– Survived an Axe to the head even before his healing factor improved.
– Took numerous shotgun shots and often just walks through bullets.
– Kept fighting despite Freddy Krueger stabbing out his eyes with his claws.
– Once swam from New Jersey all the way to New York City with no sign of exhaustion.
– Pepper Spray doesn’t work on him.
– The amount of tranquilizers required to put Jason under for a mere 15 minutes is said to be enough to put a blue whale (Which is the largest whale on earth.) in a coma.
– Has continued walking around even with a giant hole in his body that was left by Ash Williams.
– Never shows any sign of feeling pain.
Speed:
— Though as time went on he began to rely on slasher porting more (See “Slasher Porting” below)
– Once caught up to a speeding truck on foot.
– Once evaded rapid gunfire from a helicopter mini-gun.
– Has killed people who had fire arms aimed at him point blank before they could pull the trigger.
– Can keep up with Ash Williams, who can dodge point blank shot-gun fire.
– Can some times moves so fast that people don’t even see him coming.
– Cut down a girl who was standing on the other side of a wall with a single swing. He then grabbed her body before she hit the ground and disappeared with her corpse in seconds.
– In the novels, Jason displayed High Hypersonic travel speed.
— Once killed two Camp Counselors who were on opposite sides of Crystal Lake one after another in rapid succession.
— Crystal Lake is circular in shape, and it is stated that it takes a car a half hour to drive from one side of the lake to another. The speed limit in Crystal Lake is 35 mph, so the circumference of the lake can be estimated to be 35 miles. If we assume that Jason too the fastest possible route by swimming straight across, he’d be moving at Mach 26.
— Note that while this feat is said to have happened BEFORE Jason officially gained teleportation, there’s a chance that it still could have still been a result slasher porting since this happened when Jason became a Revenant; the form where his teleportation manifested (See “Revenant” below.) or even a potential outlier. (Up to the writer to determine.)
—- It should also be noted that Jason would use special tunnels underneath Camp Crystal Lake in order to take short cuts/get around.
Intelligence/Mentality:
“Che-Che-Che-Ha-Ha-Ha…..”
General Intelligence:
– Despite his mental illness as well as seeming simple, Jason is much smarter than he appears.
– Has shown he’s good at tracking and hunting people down when they’re trying to get away whether they’re in the forest of even crowded cities.
– Found Alice Hardy (The camp councilor who killed his mother) in the span of 2 months despite her moving to a new home and killed her when she least expected it.
– Can read and write.
– Has displayed a talent for building; constructed both a house for himself and even perfectly traps that could kill or merely capture his victim.
– Is smart enough to sabotage his victims means of defense or escape if given the chance:
— Often cuts the power lines/phone lines to leave his victims with out electricity or ways to call for help.
— Once lured a hunter out of his own camp so he could sabotage his weapons stock while he was gone.
— Has stolen cell phones and sliced car tires.
– Excels at stealth; knows how to stick to the shadows and move silently to catch people by surprise.
— Often goes unnoticed despite his large lumbering size, even in large crowded houses.
— Will also attack from where people don’t expect (Such as smashing through a window)
– Would often get around Crystal Lake using underground tunnels for short cuts and sneak attacks.
— Though he stopped doing this after he gained the ability to teleport.
– Will also hide and bide his time to wait for a victim to come into range and then surprise them (Like the time he hid under some blankets and fooled a bunch of people into thinking he was a friend of theirs.)
– Stealthily jumped out of a tree and decapitated three people in one swing
– Has used corpses as bait, decoys to misdirect and scare his victims.
– Learned how to cut peoples faces off from an actual murderer during his time in hell.
– He knows how to swim (or in the very least walk on the bottom of the lake) so he has no problem attacking from such as under water.
Combat Skill:
– Has shown he knows how to defend himself up close with a knife.
— Blocked knife strikes from Jason X when the two were fighting and even managed to disarm him during their battle.
– Even with out a weapon he will use his bare hands; will some times subject his victims to brutal slams and back breakers like a wrestler.
– Knows where to cut people in order to hinder their ability to literally run from him.
– Good at improvising: Can kill with what ever he gets his hands on and often thinks of creative ways to execute people.
Marksmanship:
– Has shown excellent marksmanship allowing him to kill people from a distance.
– As a result he excels at throwing his knives with great accuracy and shooting people with long distance weapons (Such as bow and arrow sets, harpoon guns, and even rifles).
– Once shot an arrow through the head of a man who was not only far away, but even driving around on a fast moving speed boat.
– Once tagged a helicopter pilot with a thrown skull (A throw made in the dark with the target being over a thousand feet away).
– Once ripped a piece of playground equipment from the ground and threw it up at a helicopter, smashing through the windshield with enough force to kill the pilot and make it come crashing down.
– More often than not he never misses and often gets head shots (or hits other vitals) on his fire try.
Personality:
– Never talks, never expresses himself/emotes, and rarely shows his face (Even when he does, he’s still difficult to read).
– That said, Jason always appears to be in a bad mood which shows in how ruthless, merciless, and aggressive he can be.
– Seems to just wish to be left alone; hates it when people venture into Camp Crystal Lake and will pursue/kill those who’ve trespassed on his territory and disrespected his land (or wronged him or his mother.)
– Is numb to both physical pain and mental pain, making him unrelenting, determined, and fearless with no regard for anyone’s life (Not even his own)
– Doesn’t even respond to physical pain or severely bodily harm. It’s also rare that anyone can affect him psychologically.
– Jason still thinks fondly of his mother, hence why her image or voice can give him pause or be used to manipulate him.
– Has massive dislike of teenagers (or people in general) drinking, taking drugs, and is disgusted by sex.
– Despite being the infamous killing machine he is, Jason will not hurt young children or pregnant women.
Special Abilities:
Revenant:
– It turns out that Jason is a Deadite known as a “Revenant”; a powerful mentally conscious Zombie.
– According to the Necronomicon, Jason becomes more powerful every time he is resurrected.
– This is why he becomes increasingly harder to kill, continued to grow significantly stronger, and has gained more abilities through out the franchise.
– Has enough super natural energy inside his body that can create violent storms when released.
— Though there’s a chance that the storm was not coming from Jason’s own super natural energy, but the power of the Voorhees Dagger taking effect to open a hole to hell and summon entities to drag Jason down below (Which Jason was eventually overpowered by)
– Due to being already dead, Jason can survive fatal blows that would kill normal people (Such as getting stabbed/impaled through vital areas)
– Doesn’t need oxygen to survive.
Slasher porting:
– Can use “Slasher Porting” to appear near his victims even if they’ve made a safe distance away from him.
– Can be used to block off escape from different directions; once kept continuously teleporting around a room to keep some one from escaping.
– Can be used to escape from danger on occasion.
– Can also be used to traverse around his area in a short amount of time and appears to be near instantaneous.
“His unique ability to regenerate lost and damaged tissue. It just cries out for more research.”
Regeneration:
– Jason’s healing factor has become more powerful through out the franchise to the point of regenerating large missing sections of his body (including lost limbs, organs, bones, and mere tissue) in just seconds.
– Can regenerate from mere flesh wounds or broken bones in a near instant.
– Has regenerated from being shot by thousands of bullets and blown up by grenades which were all specifically designed to kill him.
– Can even function with out his head and just pick it back up and put it on no problem.
– However, if Jason’s body is blown to small enough pieces, he can’t properly regenerate.
Electricity Absorption:
– Jason’s dead body is able to be resurrected with bolts of lightning (As shown in Part 6) as well as surges of regular electricity (as shown in part 8)
– When hit with electricity of any kind, Jason is both healed and further strengthened.
– Jason’s senses are heightened to the point where he can find people quite easily.
– Once killed a girl as she ran down the stairs in her own home by throwing an axe straight through her front door straight into her chest (Despite the fact that there was no way he could have seen where she was at the time.)
– The more scared some one is, the easier it is for Jason to track them down.
— Jason can track them down based off their levels of adrenaline, heart rate, breathing rate, or even just the scent of their bodily fluids.
– Jason is able to use “Fear Aura” which can activate at any time to mess with people in different ways.
– Jason’s fear aura has a massive area of effect, as it can affect not just those around him, but the entire town of crystal lake.
– When activated, those affected will end up becoming terrified, confused, more prone to making mistakes, hysterical, and have a harder time fighting back.
– When his opponent is afraid, they become much easier to track down/find (See “Super Senses” above.)
– Appears to get more severe the closer his victims are.
– Though the effects seem to be temporary, as it’s possible that some one can over come it whether it’s being calmed down by another person or the fear aura losing it’s effect naturally over time.
Life Energy Drain (NES):
– In the Friday the 13th NES game, Jason had the power to drain “life energy” with a single touch.
— Jason was capable of creating zombies and other creatures who were also capable of draining “life energy” in the game, so it’s likely that he also has this ability as well.
– It’s possible that those he drains “Life Energy” from end up turning into zombies.
Illusion/Hallucination manifestation:
– Jason gained the power to create illusions which can actually grab and immobilize his victims.
– They are even capable of damaging/hurting his victims, meaning that Jason can effectively kill people with his mind if he desires.
The Jason Strain (Novels):
– Exclusive to the book of the same name.
– A highly contagious virus that was made when an artificial virus (which was supposed to be a cure-all and age retarding super drug) was exposed to Jason.
– If some one ingests or gets covered in Jason’s blood (Or the blood of anyone else infected), they will become zombies with super strength and Jason’s healing abilities, but they also gain Jason’s rage and desire to kill with severely reduced intelligence.
— The only way to kill these zombies is via decapitation.
– However, by the end of the book Jason was rid of it (the cure was injected directly into his brain while others were given an airborne cure) so it’s unlikely that Jason can use zombies from his blood anymore.
– Up to the writer if this should be used or not.
True Form: Hellbaby:
– A worm-like demon that is the carrier of Jason Voorhees soul (and presumably the souls of his victims as well)
– Can be used to possess people if Jason’s body is destroyed beyond repair.
– Seems to have limited hypnotic powers, as it can hypnotize people into wishing to consume it.
Possession:
– The Hellbaby can use its powers compel some one to eat Jason’s heart (Where the Hellbaby resided) so it could then enter his body.
— It can also enter a host by simply going into their mouths; it often makes it’s current host spit it down into the mouths/throats of others so it can jump from body to body.
– Once it possesses a host, they will end up getting Jason’s strength and be kept alive even after being fatally injured.
— However, most human bodies seem unable to handle Jason’s power, so they will be riddled with necrotic diseases and slowly die off, so jumping from body to body is essential.
— Every time it leaves the host, the previous host body will be subjected to the full pain of their injuries and die in an agonizing way as they melt down to just a skeleton.
– A human body belonging to a blood relative of Jason’s is able to handle Jason’s power.
— Thus instead of rotting away, the body will mutate into a brand new ‘Jason’ and return him to full power.
– Those possessed will look like Jason in a mirror’s reflection.
Weapons/Gear:
– Jason’s iconic hockey mask.
– In the novels, it was shown that anyone who wears the mask will become possessed by Jason and become his new host.
– Can also protect his fact from flying hockey pucks, I guess.
Machete:
– Jason’s most commonly used weapon which he carries everywhere.
– A 2-foot long Machete.
– Can often cut people in half with just a since swing.
– Can some times be thrown at targets.
– Jason can some times dual wield two at once.
– Can even slice through 15 inches of steel.
Axe:
– Occasionally used to hack and slash people.
– Can throw a seemingly never ending supply of them at the player in the NES game.
Spear:
– Can be used to impale people.
– Can be planted into the ground so Jason can then push/throw some one onto it’s pointed tip.
– Can likely be thrown as well.
Spear Gun:
– Once of Jason’s few long-range weapons
– Range should be anywhere from 10 to 26 feet
– The end of the spear is barbed, making it difficult (and VERY painful) to pull out.
– Jason can shoot so accurately with it that he can hit some one in the eye.
Hunting Bow:
– Another long-range weapon
– Likely has a range of (at least) 30 to 35 yards
– Jason was skilled enough to get a head shot on some one who was in a moving speed boat.
Other Weapons:
– Jason has used many other weapons through out the franchise, including (but not limited to):
– A large buzzsaw polearm (Pictured above)
– An ice pick
– A belt with throwing knives.
– A cleaver
– A hammer
– A hack saw
– A pick axe
– A sickles
– A pitch fork
– Chains
– Some Barbed wire
– A bear trap
– Once even wielded an Assault Rifle (In both the Novels and Comics)
– Basically what ever he can get his hands on including his victim’s weapons.
Scaling:
– Has fought Freddy Krueger and Ash Williams several times through out his franchise.
– All three are consistently shown strong enough to hurt each other, so they all scale.
– Jason could keep up with Ash Williams, who’s fast enough to dodge his own Boom Stick at close range.
— This would give Jason Supersonic speed minimum.
– Ash Williams is strong enough to fight Deadites, who can punch through wooden walls, punch through metal tables, throw him several hundred feet, and evil versions of himself.
– Smashed through Ash William’s Chainsaw with just a single punch.
– Once resisted being sucked into the Deadite dimension, something Freddy couldn’t even do.
— The pull of the portal to the Deadite dimension is powerful enough to lift and suck up an entire car.
– Has killed numerous victims through out the franchise (He’s killed 146 victims in his movies alone.)
– Killed so many people that Camp Crystal Lake received the Nickname “Camp Blood”
– Avenged his mother by killing her killer; Alice Hardy
– Fought against a girl with telekinetic powers
– Gained celebrity status in his world to the point of fame and being celebrated

– Possessed numerous people and made them murder each other
– Created a zombie epidemic on an island just off Costa Rica
– Fought and killed a Great White Shark
– Was once caught between a feud between a hillbilly cult and government soldiers and destroyed them both at the same time.
– Battled Freddy Krueger (Twice)
– Fought and nearly killed Ash Williams
– Even got into a three way battle between Freddy and Ash Williams
– Fought and defeated Leatherface
– Stalked and eliminated an entire group of government military commandos and shrugged off everything they could throw at him (Including weapons especially designed to deal with him.)
– Teamed up with Freddy and lead an army of Deadites on a siege to Washington DC.
– Fought his future counter part ‘Jason X’
– Battled against both Cassie Hack and her partner Vlad, as well as Dexter Morgan
Weaknesses:
– People have used his mother’s image to make him hesitant to kill and even make him susceptible to suggestion; tricking him into doing things for them or simply making him stand down.
– If blown to very small pieces he can’t regenerate
– Can be stopped via freezing.
– Inconsistent fear of water; While Jason has fearlessly walked/swam through water before, it can frighten him in other instances and make him stop in his tracks and be reluctant to attack.
— Though this could also be the result of Freddy digging into/messing with his mind at the time.
– Toxic Waste hurts him and can weaken him.
— Enough toxic waste can (some how) turn him back into a human. (Even if just temporarily.)
– The fact that the rights to his franchise are split between Paramount Pictures, Newline Cinema, and Victor Miller is keeping anymore sequels from being made. Cooperate politics and and legal rights battles are the greatest threats that Jason Voorhees has ever faced.
“There’s a legend around here. A killer buried, but not dead. A curse on Crystal Lake, a death curse. Jason Voorhees’ curse. They say he died as a boy, but he keeps coming back. Few have seen him and lived. Some have even tried to stop him. No one can. People forget he’s down there, waiting…”
